Duc Viet Limited Company is precursor of Duc Viet Food Joint Stock Company. In 2000, the company was established in a small factory that was less than 200m² in Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi. The very first sausages with German technology were produced in a limited number. It was a “romantic” but risky idea, when all the company founders had not tasted yet.
With the help of German experts, first sausages were warmly welcomed by Vietnamese and Germans residing in Vietnam. In the same year, the Germany Embassy held a party to thank consumers who used Duc Viet sausages and the sausages were enjoyed again. At that time, with the small factory and product line with only 12 employees, only Grilled Sausage (Bratwurst), a famous brand from Thüringen, Middle of Germany was produced. It was a hard time for Duc Viet when they both expanded market and seek for customers, and except from students who studied abroad, almost no Vietnamese local knew about sausage. The Executive Board of Duc Viet needed to manage and introduce products directly.
In 2002, with the investment from oversea companies, Duc Viet changed into ventured company. By the end of 2002, Duc Viet introduced 4 kinds of sausage: grilled, smoked, beer and Vienna. They were main products that were favored by Vietnamese later.

The factory was 3,5ha, produced 200 pigs/day, which means 60 thousands pigs/year (now the factory was moved to Kim Dong, Hung Yen). Filter and phase system: 17 tons of meat per day, which is 4.000 tons/year. Since the factory officially ran with the support from German experts, Duc Viet Food had become more diverse.
In 2008, it changed to Duc Viet Food Joint Stock Company with many shareholders.
